Engineered stone

Engineered stone is made by combining 93 percent crushed natural quartz with 7 percent resins and pigments which makes this material much harder, more durable, and easier to care for than any other countertop material.

In addition to the durability and ease of maintenance, engineered stone countertops are also available in an array of colors, patterns, and textures. Similar to granite, engineered stone is usually polished to a high gloss shine and installed in solid slabs. However, the colors and patterns are more consistent with engineered stone and the surface does not require sealing either.

Quartz based materials are resistant to domestic chemical agents, however contact with some chemical substances may damage the surface. Among these substances are sulphuric acid concentrate, ketone (acetone - i.e. nail varnish removal), and a combination of strong solvents (e.g. paint stripping products). The amount of damage depends on the length of the exposure to the chemical substances. Do not use, under any circumstance, hydrofluoric acid, caustic soda, or solvents such as chloroform.

Engineered stones are sold under various trade names such as trendstone, caesarstone , silestone etc. Please enquire for more information.
